In 1996, a building at 97 Empress Avenue, Ilford was purchased by a few dedicated Muslims to establish a Masjid for the local community. It hosted prayers, children's Islamic classes, and Taraweeh during Ramadan. However, due to planning restrictions, a mosque couldn't be established there.
Undeterred, the founders sought a new location. Alhamdulillah, in 2007, they secured a purpose-built property at 97 Kensington Gardens, originally a Jehovah's Witness Church since the 1960s. The building was converted into Masjid Al-Falah (North Ilford Islamic Centre), and daily prayers began immediately.
To accommodate the growing Muslim community, neighboring buildings were acquired in 2009 and 2011. Masjid Al-Falah continues to thrive, serving and supporting the local community.

Masjid Al-Falah, North Ilford Islamic Centre, is dedicated to serving the religious, spiritual, educational, and communal needs of the local community by:

Join us to deepen your faith through service and devotion.
Our Madrasa welcomes children from ages 5 and above, with tailored classes for different age groups.
Masjid Al-Falah is governed by an elected Board of Trustees who oversee the strategic direction of the organisation. Day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated team including our Imams, administrative staff, and volunteers. We have various committees focusing on education, youth, women's affairs, community outreach, and facilities management.
Masjid Al-Falah was established in 1995 by a group of dedicated community members who recognised the need for a central place of worship and learning in the area. Starting from humble beginnings in a small rented space, the community worked together to purchase the current building in 2002. Through continued generosity and dedication, the mosque has grown to become a cornerstone of the Muslim community.
Masjid Al-Falah is primarily funded through the generous donations of our community members. We receive regular contributions through Friday collections, monthly standing orders, and special appeals during Ramadan and other occasions. We also receive Zakat and Sadaqah donations which are carefully distributed according to Islamic principles. All our financial activities are transparent and audited annually.
Masjid Al-Falah is committed to serving all British Muslims regardless of their background, ethnicity, or school of thought. We provide accessible religious guidance, community support, and a welcoming environment for everyone. Our programs cater to first-generation immigrants and British-born Muslims alike. We focus on helping Muslims integrate positively into British society while maintaining their Islamic identity and values.
